Walter was a gentleman and my life is better for knowing him. He was my 'Daddy B' and displayed a caring attitude towards me like a good father would. I can remember him thinking of alternate routes to my place of work as he had been concerned about me crossing a particularly busy roundabout! I often find myself smiling about the way he mixed words up on purpose or the way he would go on about North Wales! I never told him, but I admired Walter for his decorating and building skills and his attention to detail. He certainly left his stamp on my own house and I am still grateful for that. During Walters' illness, he taught me how the human spirit can triumph a cruelness beyond understanding. It humbled me to witness Walters' courage and lack of self pity - I shall never forget that. Nor shall I forget how smartly he dressed, how mild mannered he was and what a lovely husband, father and grandfather he made. Well, Wally, you are greatly missed by all. Here's to having the biggest Hamlet they have in heaven. x
